League of Friends

The League of Friends was formed from the Patient Participation Group in April 1998, following the closure of Winsford Community Hospital in Halwill junction. Many of the members had previously been involved in both the PPG and the Winsford Hospital League of Friends.

The Objectives of the charity are as follows:-

“To relieve the patients of Blake House Surgery in the Community who are sick, convalescent, disabled, inform or in need, and generally to support the Charitable work of the Medical Centre”.

Membership

1.)    Membership of the Charity shall be open to any person over the age of 18 years interested in furthering the objects and who has paid the annual subscription laid down from time by the Executive Committee.

2.)    Every member shall have one vote.

3.)    The Executive committee may by unanimous vote and for good reason, terminate the membership of any individual concerned shall have the right to be heard by the Executive Committee, accompanied by a friend, before a final decision is made.

General Meetings are held approximately once every 3 months in Black Torrington Village Hall.
